                 COCKAPOO-POO
As the 2 pictures show there is not
really a lot of difference between the
Cockapoo or the Cockapoo-poo.
The true Cockapoo is an American
Cocker and a Poodle ( but English
Cockers & Poodle crosses are more
common in the UK )

The Cockapoo-poo is a Cockapoo
crossed with a Poodle the name has
come about by the fact that another
poodle is used hence Cockapoo-poo

 COCKAPOO

Cockapoos, or (Cockerpoos) as the name indicates, are a cross (hybrid) of pure American or English Cocker Spaniels and Poodles. They have been bred informally for many decades, in America and have been noted for their wonderful dispositions, long lives and lower incidence of genetic defects than in the parental breeds. This type of cross breeding results in "hybrid vigor" in which the best qualities of each breed manifest in the offspring. .

The Cockapoo derives from the Poodle its extraordinary intelligence and non shedding coat. (Realistically, no dog exists that does not shed, so a better term would be low-shed.) When combed and brushed, some hair does come out, but it is not likely that you will find dog hairs on the carpet, etc. Because the Poodle is commonly referred to as non shedding, low to non shedding is used to describe the Cockapoo. Likewise, there is very little dander, which is the main culprit in allergies to dogs. This makes the Cockapoo the ideal choice for those who have problems with allergies. ( Of course the Spaniel sheds and the Poodle does not, so equally an offspring may or may not shed its not 100% guaranteed. )

The Cockapoo's sweet nature, patient disposition and sturdy build come from the Cocker Spaniel. The resulting personality is unparalleled in its ability to relate to people and children. They are famous for being loyal, affectionate, open and friendly, non destructive, eager to please, easily trained, vigorous, clean, have no doggy odour, healthy and long lived (18-22 years). The dog's flexibility and range of sizes makes it ideal for a number of special situations.

The Cockapoo is a very intelligent dog, making training a breeze at times. This dog does well in obedience, and with the right training techniques and proper handling this dog will thrive. This dog requires firm handling, but can be somewhat sensitive to the tone of your voice so training should be consistent and relatively firm yet gentle.

Cockapoos come in a variety of coat colours, Including both solids and combinations. The general shape of the Cockapoo, in particular its ears, mostly resembles the Spaniel, but the coat and face more closely resemble that of the Poodle.

Cockapoos have few health problems, don't expect to be on a first name basis with your vet. They can suffer from problems associated with either the Cocker Spaniel or the Poodle, though rarely due to their cross bred genetic strength.

Expect the popularity of this super dog as a breed to ensure its future in our hearts.
